Shanghai is located in central-eastern China which is facing the East China Sea. The city is divided into two major sections – Puxi and Pudong. There are domestic and international airports located in the city that is convenient for first-time travelers.

The Great Wall’s historical construction dates back in the 7th century BC and continued until the start of 1644 during the Qing Dynasty. This massive structure was done to protect the ruling Chinese Empire from northern invaders. The wall covers 8,850 kilometers of solid brick structure that stretches over mountains and hills in the region. Now, some of the sections are restored and serve as tourist attractions.

This is no ordinary place to visit because it will take you a while to see all the sections from one end to the other. Visitors can choose to see many different parts of the Great Wall, but one of the most recommended stops is the Mutianyu. If people want to see a more historical side of this country, Xi’an is the top choice. It is also known as Changan which is the largest city in the northwest part of China. The city had been the country’s capital for 13 dynasties and were famous for its historical value.

Many travelers from around the globe come here to see the Terracotta Army, which was made and buried in 210 BC. The army was placed together with Qin Shi Huang, who was the first emperor of China. Locals and tourists alike are fascinated with the breathtaking view of an intricately carved sculpture of soldiers in this army. The place has more than 8,000 soldiers that according to experts, each has a unique individual feature. Then there are more unbelievable sculptures placed with the army like 150 cavalry horses, 130 chariots, and about 520 other horses.

These things alone cannot explain the massive historical value and craftsmanship of the whole Terracotta Army. But Xi’an does not only offer this wonderful site, there are also the Banpo Museum, Big Goose Pagoda, Xi’an Great Mosque, and the Forest Stone Steles Museum to name some of its other attractions.
